The “Soi Dog” Temple Standoff
Last week against my better judgment I went out in the heat to visit a local temple that I had seen on google.
It is located at Tambon Tha Pradu built in around 1464.
Its only a few minutes walk from Caza V1, where I am staying
I thought it would be a great experience to see something so old.
Well the soi dogs put an end to any excitement i had.
They charged me as soon as i approached the temple.
A monk came out but he didn’t speak English so it wasn’t much help.
He also wasn’t much help with calling the dogs off.

According to online, this is the ancient temple.
I did not see this, so I have no idea where it is.
I visited the one shown below.

I had sat down out the front and lucky i did, as I saw the big shoe rack.
In my haste to get away from the dogs I forgot to remove my shoes.
Luckily it wasn’t in the temple area.
So below is like an official description i found online.
However when i went there i only saw a few of the things shown.
No idea about the FISH
Seeing the above image I know I was in the right area, just didn’t spend enough time investigating as it was far too hot.
There are at least half a dozen lottery vendor’s sitting outside selling lucky tickets.
I will know how lucky on the 2nd of may
This ancient temple, over 500 years old, is a significant landmark in Rayong Province. Visitors can pay respects to the revered Luang Por Khao statue here.
The temple grounds are serene and shaded, with a designated area at the back for releasing fish.
For those seeking peace of mind, a place to pray, or meditate, this temple is worth a visit.
So as you can see from above, it mentions giving food to fish.
I will have to go back, as i didn’t even see any water
