I have been in Rayong over a year now.
In that time in , I’ve managed to locate all the necessary services, such as medical providers, accommodation, and various dining options.
Living in a popular serviced apartment means seeing people from all over the world.
It’s interesting how, after settling in for a few weeks, everyone starts looking for the same things.
For instance, just this week, three different residents have asked me for my best hospital recommendation in the city.
Since I keep getting the same great questions, I’m launching this blog! I’ll be sharing my personal experiences and reliable answers to all the most-asked questions to help others settle in.

What Hospital to go to in Rayong

My personal choice is Chularat Rayong Hospital
This hospital is not far from the star fresh market.
There is usually an employee at the entrance who can speak English and she will be able to assist you with whatever your medical inquiry is.
For medical check ups they have great fixed price packages, so you know exactly how much it is going to cost.
Need Medication?

Thailand is a bit different from say Australia when it comes to medication and in my opinion its great.
If you need medication for say cholesterol or blood pressure, there is no need to visit a doctor to get a prescription.
Just take your prescription from your home country or bring a pill packet and they will check if they have it.
Rayong has many pharmacies scattered around the city.
I have visited many of them and have a firm favorite.

This pharmacy is extremely helpful and the prices are very good.
I have been known to pay a 1/3 of the price versus another store.

Where to Stay?

While securing accommodation in Rayong is generally straightforward, for stays lasting a few months or longer, I highly recommend CAZA V1 Serviced Apartments.

Situated very close to central Rayong, these long-term apartments are 40 sqm, fully furnished, and designed for comfort. Guests enjoy free, fast Wi-Fi (no password required for easy access).
Convenience Highlights:
For long-term residents, a weekly housekeeping service is included.
An excellent restaurant is located downstairs, offering a wide selection of delicious food and desserts.
Stay active with the small gym located downstairs near the restaurant.
Enjoy complimentary coffee in the foyer opposite the service desk.
Getting around in Rayong
For transport in Rayong, I rely entirely on Grab.
As someone over 60, I’ve given up driving and riding scooters altogether—it’s simply a safer, stress-free way to live, and it saves a surprising amount of money on vehicle maintenance and insurance.
Key Destinations: Easy access to local hubs like the Star Night Market, Lotus’s Supermarket, and the Star I.T. Computer Market (situated under the Star Convention Center).
Affordable Fares: Most rides around central Rayong cost roughly 55 baht but Cheaper if you use the motorcycle option.
