Death Of a Hard drive & how easy disk checker saved me

It’s the split-second nightmare every digital creator, photographer, and tech user dreads: you plug in your external drive, wait for the familiar chime, and… nothing.
Total silence. That’s exactly what happened when my trusty SanDisk external hard drive decided to unexpectedly breathe its last breath.

This program is awesome and its FREE.
The drive did not appear in windows, and as it contained many files and photos I was devastated
This software scans your drives and the bad drive showed up as a lost partition.
After a quick scan you can write click on the folders and save to another drive.
It works fantastic.
Many sites online want to charge you for data recovery, download this instead.

I must admit, i didn’t spend a lot of time looking at the options.
I just went straight to copying the files to see if i could get them back
I later found holding down shift and selecting lets you copy multiple folders.

I have currently recovered 48 gigabytes of data so it will be a long morning.
