My Last Day of work as a Volunteer

Today was my last day as a volunteer at the Salvos.
Tomorrow i will officially join the Old Farts Club and get a seniors card.
Had a small birthday celebration at work, and got a lovely cake, card and goodies.
I will probably miss going in to work each day, but then again maybe I won’t.

I am going to the RSL on Thursday for a celebration dinner with a dozen of the staff and volunteers.
Its been a super fast year and a half there and its been great fun.
If you are thinking about volunteering, just do it.

Gifts and Thanks Last night

Went to the RSL last night and was certainly surprised by the gifts and cards from everyone.
Being able to volunteer while still receiving assistance was a fantastic time for me.
Having to return to Australia wasn’t something I had planned, but my time there was certainly enjoyable.
